drink of the month #2 – hot cinnamon pear and apple


Since it is still winter and cold outside (at least on this side of the globe), a hot beverage is pretty nice these days. This one is made out of pears and apples. I came across this idea while preparing pears and apples for my vegan pancakes with pears and apples.

And this is how to prepare it: For one person you’ll need one apple and one pear. Chop them into little pieces. Heat a little pot with a tea-spoon sunflower oil. Add the fruits and let them stew a bit. Take a glass of water, add a pinch of salt, the juice of half lemon, as much brown sugar and cinnamon as you like (at least a tea-spoon of each). Put this flavored water to the fruits. Let everything cook for a few minutes, add more flavored water if you like. When the fruits look smooth, strain everything through a sieve into a nice glass. Enjoy!

PS: Don’t throw away the pure fruits. You can save them for a nice dessert.
